The IU men’s basketball team opened its season with a resounding victory over Alabama A&M, clinching a 98-51 win. Under the leadership of new head coach Darian DeVries, the team showcased a revamped offensive strategy that emphasizes three-point shooting, successfully hitting 10 long-range shots during the game.
Five players scored in double figures, with Reed Bailey leading the way with 21 points. IU also excelled at the free-throw line, going a perfect 16-for-16. The IU football team has achieved its highest ranking in history, holding the No. 2 spot in the national polls. This week, quarterback Fernando Mendoza led an impressive 80-yard drive, culminating in a game-winning touchdown against the Penn State Nittany Lions. The final score was 27-24, marking IU’s first victory at Beaver Stadium.

Women’s Basketball Off to a Strong Start
The IU women’s basketball team has kicked off the season with a 2-0 record. Key players Lenee Beaumont and Shay Ciezki have significantly contributed to the team’s success. Ciezki scored a total of 57 points in the first two games, leading the Hoosiers to victories of 80-46 against Lipscomb and 72-56 versus UIC. Their next game is scheduled against Marshall.
Volleyball Secures Historic Victory
The IU volleyball team achieved a historic win by defeating Penn State for the first time ever in State College, sweeping the match in straight sets. They continued their success with a five-set victory over Iowa, improving their overall record to 19-4 and 10-3 in the league, positioning them for a potential postseason appearance.
