Early Life and Challenges
By the age of 14, Davis faced substantial hardships. He was expelled from school and forced to leave his childhood home. During this tumultuous period, he took on the responsibility of caring for newborn twin sons. “I had a rough upbringing,” he recalls. “At 14, I was living with their mother and later moved into a hostel until I secured my own flat.”
Financial instability was a constant struggle. Davis was earning around £100 every two weeks, making it difficult to provide for his family. He had to grow up quickly, facing the realities of adulthood while still a teenager.
Turning to Boxing
Despite his difficult circumstances, Davis discovered boxing at the age of 12. He participated in his first unlicensed amateur fight a year later. However, the need to provide for his children forced him to put his dreams on hold. He turned to the streets of Chapeltown, Leeds, to support his family.
