November 6: Decision on School Holiday Announced

As schools across India prepare for November 6, 2025, announcements regarding school holidays have been made in several regions. These closures arise due to various local events and circumstances.

School Holidays Announced for November 6

Different states have declared school holidays on November 6 for distinct reasons, including Assembly elections and local festivals.

Bihar: Assembly Elections Prompt School Closure

Bihar will experience a school holiday on November 6 due to the first phase of the Assembly elections. The Election Commission has designated several schools as polling stations, necessitating the closure to facilitate voting. A total of 17 districts will observe this holiday, allowing teachers and staff to assist with election duties. The affected districts are:

  • Patna
  • Darbhanga
  • Madhepura
  • Saharsa
  • Muzaffarpur
  • Gopalganj
  • Siwan
  • Saran
  • Vaishali
  • Samastipur
  • Begusarai
  • Lakhisarai
  • Munger
  • Sheikhpura
  • Nalanda
  • Buxar
  • Bhojpur

Many of these districts were already closed on November 5 for Guru Nanak Jayanti. All schools are set to resume on November 7.

Uttar Pradesh: Festival Celebrations Lead to School Break

In Uttar Pradesh, Anupshahr will observe a school holiday until November 6 due to the Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela. This event attracts a large number of participants, prompting the Bulandshahr District Education Officer to announce school closures from November 3 to 6. Both government and private schools in Anupshahr will remain closed, while others in the district will operate normally.

Schools in Anupshahr will also reopen on November 7 following the conclusion of the fair.

Maharashtra: Rain Alerts but Schools Remain Open

In Maharashtra, schools will stay open on November 6, as no official holiday has been declared. Nevertheless, the India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for heavy rains in several districts, namely Raigad, Jalgaon, Beed, and Amravati. Parents are encouraged to monitor weather conditions, as local holidays may be announced if the situation worsens.

Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana: Regular School Schedule

Schools in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana will not close on November 6. They will resume normal operations after the Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday on November 5.

Southern States: Schools Reopen After Cyclone

In southern states, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Odisha, schools have reopened following closures due to Cyclone Montha. There are no scheduled holidays for November 6, although localized holidays might be influenced by ongoing weather conditions.

Parents are advised to remain informed through announcements from local education departments and schools regarding any changes.
