Bobby Portis Confidently Targets Milestones for 2025-26 Bucks Season

Bobby Portis, the Milwaukee Bucks’ sixth man and versatile forward/center, has expressed high confidence in his team’s roster as the 2025-26 season progresses. This summer, the 30-year-old opted out of his $13.4 million player option to secure a three-season, $44 million contract, which will keep him with the Bucks until 2028, with a player option for the final year.

Bobby Portis Eyes 2025-26 Season Milestones

In a recent podcast interview on “Hear District” with Milwaukee icon Marques Johnson and his son Kris Johnson, Portis praised the depth of the Bucks’ roster under the management of General Manager Jon Horst. He stated, “I think it’s 13, 14, 15 deep, man!” highlighting the multiple options available on any given night.

Roster Changes and Key Additions

Portis’s enthusiasm is rooted in various strategic moves made during the offseason:

  • Re-signing guards Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., and Ryan Rollins.
  • Bringing back small forward Taurean Prince and third-string center Jericho Sims.
  • Extending AJ Green, a new starting small forward, on a four-year, $45 million deal.
  • Waiving point guard Damian Lillard, who is out for the season due to an Achilles tendon injury, and reallocating salary space.
  • Signing Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers to a four-year contract worth $108.9 million.
  • Adding swingman Amir Coffey and guards Cole Anthony and Gary Harris to the roster.

Expectations for the Season

Portis believes this revamped team might have the best bench in the NBA. He mentioned, “We’ve got a lot of plug-and-play guys. It’s going to be very much exciting basketball that we’re going to be playing.”

As the season unfolds, Ryan Rollins will start due to Kevin Porter Jr.’s ankle injury sustained in the season opener. The Bucks aim to showcase their depth when they face the Toronto Raptors on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT.

With his commitment and strong team outlook, Bobby Portis is determined to hit significant milestones for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2025-26 season.
