Five individuals were taken into custody following a violent altercation that left a man dead in Scottsdale, Arizona. One suspect faces murder charges in connection with this fatal incident.

On October 11, around 2:15 a.m., Thomas John Pizzitola was discovered unconscious on a sidewalk near Scottsdale Road and 1st Avenue. Emergency responders transported him to a hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The confrontation began when Pizzitola and two companions were ejected from Pattie’s First Avenue Lounge due to unruly behavior. After leaving the establishment, a dispute arose outside in the rain when one friend allegedly collided with a woman, leading to a physical altercation.

Involvement of Suspects

  • Drew Meneses, 24, is accused of delivering the fatal punch.
  • Prosecutor Angela Andrews stated that cellphone footage captured Meneses striking Pizzitola, resulting in a severe brain injury.
  • Meneses claimed in court that there was no intent to harm, stating, “It was not supposed to happen like that at all.”

Arrests Made

On October 22, law enforcement officials arrested five people in relation to the fight:

  • Julius Husser, 27 – Charged with aggravated assault and assault.
  • Krista Molina, 27 – Charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
  • Tony Becker, 26 – Charged with aggravated assault and assault.
  • Drew Meneses, 24 – Charged with second-degree murder.
  • Mark Whitford, 23 – Charged with aggravated assault.
