UK Fashion Chain Vanishes from High Street as Stores Close This Weekend

Quiz, a prominent UK fashion chain, has entered administration for the second time in under a year. As a result, the company is set to close its remaining 37 stores across the country. The announcement of store closures comes after the company struggled with a challenging start to 2026.
Administration Announcement
Quiz formally entered administration on February 5, 2025. The firm sought guidance from the advisory group Interpath, which is now overseeing the closure process. Administrators Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs are managing the situation, emphasizing the need for shoppers to visit local stores for final liquidation sales.
Store Closures Timeline
The closures will occur gradually, with significant dates outlined as follows:
- June 14: Closure of Basingstoke branch and additional outlets in Carlisle and Eastbourne.
- June 16: Watford store to shut its doors.
- June 17: Clydebank location to close.
- June 19: Irvine’s store will cease operations.
- June 20: Portsmouth store is expected to close.
- Late June: Castleford store also to shut down.
Employee Impact
The administration has placed over 100 jobs at risk, particularly at the head office and warehouse. However, Quiz has not disclosed the exact number of employees affected by the store closures.
