Paul Pierce, Ex-Boston Celtic, Arrested for Alleged DUI

Former NBA star Paul Pierce has been arrested on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles. The incident occurred on a Tuesday night after officers found him asleep behind the wheel on U.S. Highway 101.

Details of the Arrest

California Highway Patrol responded to an unrelated multi-vehicle crash on the northbound lanes of the highway around 10:40 p.m. The incident required the closure of four out of six lanes for investigation. Once the lanes reopened about an hour later, officers discovered a Range Rover SUV stopped just south of the crash site.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police found Pierce asleep inside. They observed signs of alcohol impairment and proceeded to conduct a DUI investigation, resulting in his arrest for a misdemeanor charge. The case will be reviewed by the Los Angeles city attorney.
