Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre: Temporarily Rebranding Paramount Fine Foods Centre

The City of Mississauga has announced a significant change regarding its naming rights for the facility formerly known as the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Effective June 1, 2026, the venue will temporarily be renamed the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre. This transition comes after Paramount Fine Foods failed to meet its financial obligations, resulting in the city unilaterally terminating their agreement.
Details of the Naming Change
The name change will not affect any scheduled bookings, programs, or events. The previous agreement was in place for nearly eight years but was dissolved due to Paramount’s non-payment of approximately $1.6 million owed to the city. Efforts to reach a resolution between the city and PFF were unsuccessful.
Transition to the New Name
- The temporary name will encompass various facilities, including:
- Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre (5500 Rose Cherry Pl.)
- Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre Community Rinks (5500 Rose Cherry Pl.)
- Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre SportsPlex (5600 Rose Cherry Pl.)
- Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre Sports Fields and Dome (5475 Rose Cherry Pl.)
The city will continue to manage all bookings, ensuring that patrons with tickets referencing the previous name will still be honored. Throughout the transition, measures will be implemented to minimize disruption for visitors.
Future Plans for the Venue
Starting June 1, 2026, the City of Mississauga will also take over food service operations at the facility. This change aims to provide a consistent and positive customer experience moving forward. Additionally, the city is actively seeking a new naming partner while conducting market analysis to determine the future value of naming rights.
About the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre
The facility offers a wide array of sports and recreational amenities, which include:
- An indoor main spectator arena for sports and concerts
