In Broadstairs, notable arrests included:

  • A teenager suspected of assaulting an emergency worker.
  • Possession of cannabis.

  • Others for breaching dispersal orders.

Margate also saw a flurry of arrests for various offenses:

Disruptions and Police Response

On Sunday, police responded to a disturbance at a fast food restaurant on Margate High Street, leading to further detentions. Officers conducted 10 stop searches throughout the weekend, yielding one discovery of cannabis.

Community and Police Collaboration

As part of the enforcement effort, two traffic offence reports were issued. Chief Inspector Swallow commented that the majority of visitors displayed respectful behavior. He noted that only “pockets of incidents” needed police intervention.

Swallow emphasized a collaborative approach between police, local councils, and businesses. This partnership greatly contributed to keeping “crime and disorder… to an absolute minimum.” Kent Police reaffirmed its commitment to addressing antisocial behavior and stated it would take necessary actions against those disrupting the peace.
