Palermo is set to unveil Sicily’s first gay street on June 1st. This landmark initiative will take place in the historic Vucciria neighborhood, on a segment of Via Argenteria. A welcoming banner will greet visitors, stating: “Welcome to the Gay Street Palermo!”

- Canal G Onlus Italia
- Stop Homophobia Center of Palermo
Additionally, local businesses on Via Argenteria actively support this initiative, which aims to foster an inclusive community.
A Unique Business Landscape
Palermo’s gay street will host a variety of gay-friendly and exclusive businesses. Among them is:
- ‘lu Bruccularu’: An iconic fruit stand that’s been in operation for over 70 years, offering specially marked fruits.
- The Queen di Ursula: A vintage shop where trans and gender-neutral individuals can design unique outfits.
