Chamber of Commerce Hosts Calgary Mayoral Candidates Debate

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce is set to host a significant debate for mayoral candidates, aiming to inform voters ahead of the 2025 election. This event will take place on October 8, allowing the community to engage with the candidates.

Details of the Mayoral Candidates Debate

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Global Calgary, will organize a debate for the city’s mayoral candidates at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in the Werklund Centre. This notable event is scheduled to run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time (MT).

Debate Agenda

  • Start Time: 6:00 p.m. MT
  • Official Debate Begin: 6:30 p.m. MT
  • Broadcast: The first half-hour will air on Global Calgary after the News Hour.
  • Livestream: Available on the Global Calgary website, Roku, Prime, or the Global TV app.

Deborah Yedlin, president of the Chamber, will moderate the debate. Adam MacVicar, Global Calgary’s city hall reporter, will cover highlights during the 11 p.m. news segment.

Five candidates are vying for the mayoral position:

  • Jeff Davison

  • Jeromy Farkas

Election Information

The mayoral election, along with council and school board trustee elections, will occur on October 20, 2025. Advance voting will be available starting October 8, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 42 locations across Calgary.

Additionally, Elections Calgary will resume its Vote Bus service, which will stop at 11 predetermined locations to assist voters in casting their ballots conveniently.
