GO Train Service Halted at Downsview Park Station for Bruno Mars Concert

The upcoming Bruno Mars concerts at Rogers Stadium, near Downsview Park, are generating significant excitement in Toronto. Starting on May 23, the singer will perform five shows, drawing large crowds to the city’s premier outdoor venue. To enhance the concert experience, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has announced free TTC rides for attendees after the events.

Concert Schedule and Venue Details

Bruno Mars will grace the stage on the following dates: May 23, 24, 27, 28, and 30. Other notable performances at the stadium this season include acts like BTS, AC/DC, Noah Kahan, Usher, and Chris Brown.

In preparation for the influx of attendees, Live Nation has implemented new measures at Rogers Stadium, such as:

  • Vinyl cladding on grandstand backs for noise management.
  • Increased washroom facilities and water stations.
  • Relocated concession stands for better crowd flow.
  • Enhanced digital signage to guide concertgoers.
  • A new Rogers Stadium app for real-time updates.

Transportation Information

GO Transit Metrolinx will provide regular service on concert nights for most attendees. However, there will be no GO train service at Downsview Park on May 23, 24, and 30 due to planned track closures. Eventgoers are encouraged to utilize the TTC as an alternative transportation option.

Details on GO Train Disruptions

During these disruptions, Metrolinx will not operate replacement buses at Downsview Park. Here’s a summary of the services available:

  • Regular service for most concert nights.
  • No service on select Bruno Mars concert dates.
  • GO buses will operate between Allandale Waterfront GO and Highway 407 Bus Terminal.

TTC Services for Concertgoers

The TTC is enhancing its services on concert nights. Key offerings include:

  • Free rides for ticketholders after each concert.
  • Extended subway services on Lines 1, 2, 5, and 6.
  • Extra bus services dedicated to the stadium.

Concert attendees can board the subway at various nearby stations, including Downsview Park Station, Sheppard West Station, and Wilson Station. A free shuttle service will also connect Wilson Station to the stadium.

Parking and Ride-Share Options

Parking around Rogers Stadium is limited. Live Nation recommends parking at nearby subway stations or commuter lots like York University. It’s essential to purchase parking passes in advance, as they will not be available at the venue.

Ride-share services can pick up or drop off at designated locations:

  • 81 YZD Lane
  • 590 Wilson Ave

Safety Measures and Capacity Management

Live Nation and the TTC will implement safety queuing at station entrances when capacity is reached. Additionally, a new pedestrian path is now available, linking directly from the subway to the northeast side of the stadium.

With these arrangements in place, concertgoers can look forward to an enjoyable and well-organized experience at Rogers Stadium this concert season.
