Leyton Orient Plans to Build World-Class Stadium

Leyton Orient Football Club is planning to construct a new world-class stadium. This initiative is part of a broader multi-sport campus in East London. The development aims to be a „zero carbon, energy efficient“ facility.
Stadium Capacity and Location
The proposed stadium will be designed to accommodate the club’s goal of competing in the Championship. Currently, Leyton Orient plays at Brisbane Road, which has a capacity of 9,271. This stadium has served as their home since 1937.
Challenges with Current Location
CEO Mark Devlin has acknowledged that expanding the existing stadium is unfeasible. The proximity to residential areas poses significant limitations.
- Estimated possible capacity increase: 12,000 to 14,000.
- Most realistic expansion capacity: approximately 13,000.
Collaboration with Local Authorities
To advance this project, Leyton Orient and the London Borough of Waltham Forest have signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement signifies a mutual commitment to develop the new stadium.
Future Aspirations
The club is focused on remaining in the Leyton area while pursuing its ambitions. The new stadium is envisioned as a cornerstone for both community engagement and sporting excellence.
