Senators Sign Left Winger Blake Montgomery to Three-Year Entry-Level Deal
In a significant move for the future of their franchise, the Ottawa Senators have secured left winger Blake Montgomery with a three-year entry-level contract. The deal will officially commence in the 2026-27 season.
Blake Montgomery’s Path to the Senators
Montgomery, a promising young player, will first join the Belleville Senators under an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO). This arrangement allows him to gain experience in the American Hockey League while transitioning to professional play.
NCAA Performance
Montgomery recently completed his freshman season with the Wisconsin Badgers. His team reached the national championship final but fell short, losing 2-1 to the Denver Pioneers. In that season, he played 37 games, accumulating:

- 65 penalty minutes

Previous Experience
Before joining NCAA, Montgomery showcased his talent in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He spent one season with the London Knights, helping the team secure the prestigious Memorial Cup championship. During his stint in the Canadian Hockey League, he registered an impressive:

NHL Draft Selection
