In the first quarter of 2026, the business landscape in the country saw significant growth, with over 57,400 new companies registered. These new enterprises contributed nearly 538.6 trillion VND in total registered capital, marking an impressive increase of 57.8% in the number of businesses compared to the same period last year.

Business Resumption and Overall Activity
More than 38,600 companies resumed operations in the same period, representing a 5.7% increase year-over-year. When combining the newly registered and revived companies, the total reached 96,000, which is a notable 31.7% rise compared to the first quarter of 2025.
On average, about 32,000 companies either launched or resumed their activities each month.
Market Challenges and Suspensions
However, the market experienced challenges as well. Nearly 63,500 companies temporarily suspended their operations, which is a 3.3% rise from the previous year. Additionally, over 16,600 businesses are currently in the process of liquidation, reflecting a 44.9% increase, while more than 11,700 companies completed liquidation procedures, up 98.8% from last year.
On average, approximately 30,600 companies exited the market each month during this period.
