Montreal Incident: Driver Attempts Escape After Crash Injures Two

Two women in their twenties were injured in a violent incident early Sunday morning in Villeray, Montreal. This occurred just before 3:30 AM when a vehicle collided with a tree on Boulevard Saint-Laurent, at the intersection with Boulevard Crémazie.

Details of the Incident

After hitting the tree, the car struck a pole and crashed into a concrete wall. When police arrived, they only found two female passengers inside the vehicle, as the driver had fled the scene.

Injuries Reported

  • Passenger aged 25: Injuries deemed life-threatening.
  • Passenger aged 26: Also sustained injuries.

Both women were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Driver Arrested

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was located and apprehended shortly after the incident. Police confirmed he was driving under the influence. He was also taken to a hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening. Blood samples will be taken for testing.

Investigation Underway

A perimeter was established at the crash site. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing security camera footage from the area to gather more information on the incident.
