Data from Public Health Scotland indicates that 40% of children are waiting over 12 weeks for outpatient appointments. Furthermore, there has been a significant increase in referrals to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Notably, 8,841 referrals were recorded in the last quarter of the previous year, a 17.6% rise from earlier periods.
