Pak Minister Khawaja Asif Responds to Rajnath Singh with “Kolkata” Remark

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a stern warning regarding future military actions, specifically mentioning a potential response in Kolkata. His comments came in reaction to remarks made by India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Singh had previously threatened unprecedented consequences if Pakistan continues its alleged terrorist activities.
Khawaja Asif’s Kolkata Comment
Asif asserted that Pakistan would retaliate sharply against any “misadventures”. He warned that any false flag operations conducted by India would meet a strong response. “If India tries to stage any false flag operation this time, then God-willingly, we will take it to Kolkata,” he stated.
Accusations of False Flag Operations
He alleged that there might be plans for a false flag operation involving individuals currently in custody, hinting at possible deceitful actions that could leverage terrorism-related narratives. However, no evidence was provided to substantiate these claims.
India’s Response to Terror Threats
Rajnath Singh addressed the concerns during an event in Kerala, making it clear that any aggression from Pakistan would lead to decisive military action. He reflected on the aftermath of the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 casualties, emphasizing the significant military operations that followed.
- Indian forces reportedly dismantled multiple terrorist hideouts during Operation Sindoor.
- The military action, which took less than 30 minutes, was described as the largest counter-terrorism operation conducted by India.
- Singh indicated that nine terrorist camps were destroyed in the operation, with some infrastructures still under repair.
Committing to National Security
Singh praised the Indian government’s stringent approach to national security under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He reiterated that the military would take all necessary steps to prevent a recurrence of such terrorist activities. “Our armed forces will give a befitting reply that they will never forget,” Singh stated, underscoring India’s enhanced military readiness.
Both leaders’ comments reflect the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, highlighting the fragile security situation in the region. The international community continues to monitor these developments closely, as the potential for conflict remains a pressing concern.
