Second Storm in Two Days Threatens Quebec with Final Blow

The long Easter weekend is set to bring severe weather to Quebec. Following an initial storm that unleashed rain, sleet, and snow on the province, a second storm is expected to arrive starting Saturday evening.
Second Storm Impacts Quebec
This upcoming storm is predicted to closely resemble the one affecting Quebec on Friday. Residents are advised to prepare for various weather conditions over the weekend.
Forecast for Different Regions
- South and West Quebec: Expect significant rainfall beginning Saturday. The rain may persist throughout Sunday.
- Quebec City, Saguenay, and Bas-Saint-Laurent: These areas will likely experience a mix of precipitation including sleet, snow, and rain.
- Eastern Quebec: Snow is forecasted for Sunday morning, with the potential for heavy accumulation.
Snowfall and Rain Accumulation
From Saturday to Sunday, parts of Côte-Nord and Gaspésie could see snowfall between 25 to 35 cm. Additionally, total rain accumulation may approach 100 mm for certain areas. This estimate includes rainfall from Thursday evening through Sunday evening.
The west of Quebec is projected to receive the most rain, followed closely by the Capitale-Nationale region. With various precipitation types affecting the province, road conditions may become slippery or flooded.
Residents are urged to exercise caution during the weekend festivities, especially Saturday night and Sunday.
