Tyreek Hill Faces Potential Exit from Dolphins After Severe Injury

Tyreek Hill’s future with the Miami Dolphins appears uncertain following a severe knee injury. Reports indicate that the franchise may release the star wide receiver before the start of the next league year in March.

Injury Details and Surgery Outcomes

During a game on September 29th against the New York Jets, Hill suffered a dislocated left knee, resulting in a torn ACL along with other ligament damage. He underwent surgery shortly after, which his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed was successful. Rosenhaus added that Hill will not require additional knee procedures and aims to be ready for the first week of next season.

Contract Implications

  • Hill has a $29.9 million salary in 2026, none of which is guaranteed.
  • He does have an $11 million injury guarantee and a $5 million roster bonus, which will activate only if he remains on the team through March.

Future Without the Dolphins?

Trade rumors had circulated regarding Hill’s dissatisfaction in Miami prior to his injury. Speculation about his future grew as the Dolphins struggled, holding a 1-3 record at that point in the season. Hill had caught 21 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown before his injury, indicating he was having a productive year.

Current Team Dynamics

Despite the circumstances, Hill maintained a positive demeanor while being carted off the field. On the Friday before their Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers, Hill visited the Dolphins’ facility, indicating his willingness to remain involved with the team.

As the Dolphins look ahead, the organization faces crucial decisions regarding Hill’s contract and the direction of the franchise moving forward.
