A man from Thetford Mines has been arrested for secretly recording two victims and for distributing intimate images without their consent. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), 41-year-old Mathieu Brochu allegedly filmed one victim without their knowledge between January and December 2011 in Trois-Rivières. More than a decade later, between 2022 and 2025 in Thetford Mines, he reportedly committed a similar offense against a second victim and is accused of sexual assault.

Brochu is also suspected of making intimate images accessible without consent, as per a statement released by the police on Monday. The investigation has prompted authorities to consider the possibility that he may have other victims.
