Sikh Community Files Complaint Against Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 AI Poster

Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has encountered significant backlash from the Sikh community. This controversy erupted following a complaint lodged at the Mulund Police Station in Mumbai, alleging that the film’s promotional material disrespects Sikh sentiments.

Sikh Community’s Concerns Over Dhurandhar 2 Poster

The complaint was submitted by Sardar Gurjyot Singh, the president of ‘Sikhs in Maharashtra.’ The Sikh community expressed outrage over a poster featuring a character in traditional Sikh attire, complete with a turban, who is depicted smoking a cigarette. They argue that this portrayal contradicts Sikh values and disrespects Guru Gobind Singh.

Demands Raised by the Sikh Organization

In their complaint, the group outlined multiple requests:

  • Immediate action from the police regarding the issue.
  • Removal of the controversial poster from circulation.
  • Suspension of the film’s screening until the matter is resolved.
  • Legal action against the director, producers, and the lead actor for their roles in the controversy.

The poster has been criticized for depicting sacred symbols of Sikhism, such as the turban, long beard, and kara, in an offensive manner. Community leaders emphasized that displaying these elements while smoking a cigarette is not only disrespectful but also violates the Sikh code of conduct.

Misunderstanding Over AI-Generated Image

Further complicating the situation, a legal notice was reportedly issued concerning similar grievances. The controversy was amplified by Paramjit Singh Sarna, who shared his views on social media, condemning the portrayal in the poster. He emphasized the seriousness of the offense, noting that tobacco use is strictly forbidden in Sikhism and classified as a significant breach of religious principles.

The Impact of Online Perception

After Sarna’s post gained traction, many internet users pointed out that the poster in question was not an official release but rather a fan-made creation utilizing artificial intelligence. Reports clarified that the film does not feature any song named “Pralay,” raising further questions about the authenticity of the claims made against the film.

As of now, the producers of Dhurandhar: The Revenge have not provided any statement addressing the ongoing concerns related to the poster.
