Dacia Striker: £22k Petrol Estate Challenges Skoda Octavia Pricing

The newly introduced Dacia Striker is set to contend directly with the Skoda Octavia Estate, boasting a competitive starting price of under £22,000. Previously referred to as the C-Neo during its development, the Striker is Dacia’s second quasi-estate vehicle, following the Jogger. This model joins the Bigster SUV at the pinnacle of the Dacia lineup, featuring a design aimed at appealing to a broader customer base.
Dacia Striker Overview
The Striker measures 4.62 meters in length, making it slightly longer than the Bigster, but it features a sleek, raked roofline that appears lower in profile. Although full technical specifications are still pending, the Striker is based on the Renault Group’s CMF-B platform, which is foundational for a significant portion of Dacia’s offerings.
Engine and Performance
- Available in a four-wheel-drive variant from launch.
- Features a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with a rear-mounted electric motor.
- Combined power output expected to be 152bhp.
- Additional mild and full hybrid options anticipated, ranging from 138bhp to 153bhp.

Interior Features
While the interior details remain undisclosed, it is likely to share design elements with the Dacia Duster and Bigster. This strategic design decision is part of Dacia’s plan to enhance its appeal in Europe’s C-segment, which continues to be highly popular.
Sales Goals and Future Plans
Dacia has ambitious targets for the C-segment. The company aims for this market to account for a third of its total sales by 2030. Inspire confidence from the Bigster’s success, which achieved 67,573 sales last year, the brand is determined to expand its footprint in this competitive segment.
Future Model Expansion
- Introduction of four electric vehicles, starting with a £15,000 city car compatible with the Renault Twingo.
- Next-generation Sandero to be offered alongside combustion engine variants.
- Plans to enhance hybrid offerings; aim for two-thirds of sales to come from electrified vehicles by 2030.
With these developments, the Dacia Striker positions itself as a noteworthy option for buyers looking for a practical and cost-effective alternative to the Skoda Octavia Estate.
