Shuttle Buses Replace UP Express Amid Unplanned Track Work

Transit operations in Toronto have undergone changes due to unexpected maintenance work on the Union Pearson Express (UP Express) service. This announcement was made by Susan Nguyen, a senior communications advisor for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

GO Shuttle Buses Now Serving the UP Express Line

Metrolinx has stated that GO shuttle buses will operate along the UP Express route. This service will connect passengers between Union Station and Pearson Airport. The buses will pick up and drop off customers at a temporary stop located on Station Street near York Street.

Assistance Available for Travellers

Representatives from UP Express will be on-site to assist passengers during this transition.

Revised Options for Travellers to Pearson Airport

In light of these changes, customers heading to Pearson Airport are also encouraged to consider the TTC route 900 Airport Express from Kipling Station. This route provides an alternative mode of transport during the service disruption.

Reason for Service Changes

  • Unplanned track work was identified during overnight testing.
  • Track issues require repairs between Weston Station and Pearson.
  • Regular train services between Union, Bloor, Mt. Dennis, and Weston stations are still operational every 15 minutes.

For those planning to use the UP Express, remaining informed about these updates is crucial. Ensure to verify scheduled services and available alternatives as you travel.
