Four Women Arrested for Stealing £3k Worth of Groceries from Sainsbury’s

Four women were apprehended after being linked to the theft of £3,000 worth of groceries from a Sainsbury’s supermarket. The incident occurred in Sittingbourne, where store employees alerted authorities upon noticing suspicious behavior.
Details of the Theft Incident
The police received reports of a group exiting Sainsbury’s with a trolley filled with unpaid items. This prompted a quick response from the authorities. The incident took place on February 15 at around 2:50 PM.
Police Response and Arrests
When law enforcement arrived at the Sainsbury’s on Avenue of Remembrance, the suspects had already fled in two vehicles. However, the Community Safety Unit successfully identified and traced them to a Sainsbury’s located in Faversham.

At the Faversham store, three of the women were arrested while allegedly attempting to remove security tags from the stolen items. A fourth suspect was apprehended in a vehicle outside.

Suspects and Legal Proceedings
The four women, aged 16, 21, 23, and 45, are all residents of London. They face charges related to theft from a shop and handling stolen goods. Notably, the 23-year-old was apprehended on suspicion of driving while disqualified.
All four women have been released on bail, with their next court date set for May 15, as investigations continue into their activities.
