Consensus Reached on Gia Binh International Airport Projects

Bac Ninh province officials have called for an expedited completion of grave relocations related to the Gia Binh International Airport project. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Phan The Tuan, commended the strong work ethic and cooperation among stakeholders during a recent meeting. He emphasized the project’s potential to unlock new development opportunities for both the nation and the region.
Progress on Gia Binh International Airport
The meeting highlighted several initiatives to ensure the timely progression of the airport project. Local authorities are tasked with maintaining close communication with the community to ease any concerns and uphold public order. This involves proactive measures in public information campaigns to foster community support while avoiding conflicts.
Land Acquisition Challenges
Efforts are underway to evaluate land acquisition files and approve compensation plans. Authorities and agencies are committed to resolving difficulties surrounding the land acquisition process. The Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee will ensure collaboration with localities to facilitate upcoming elections for the National Assembly and the Local People’s Council.
Financial Allocations and Compensation
As reported, the Gia Binh project has completed the declarations and inventory of all agricultural land. Approximately 3.115 trillion VND has been disbursed to around 6,537 families, representing roughly 58.2% of the required area. Specific allocations include:
- Nhan Thang Commune: 22.317 billion VND distributed to 124 families.
- Dong Cuu Commune: A total area of 11.9 hectares is impacted, with compensation details pending for 14 families.
- Dai Lai Commune: Compensation paid to 77 out of 133 families in Chi Nhi village for a 6.7-hectare area, costing approximately 21.16 billion VND.
The project continues to address issues related to families unwilling to comply with relocation, ensuring that all necessary measures, including topographic surveys, are completed swiftly. This engagement is vital to maintaining momentum in the Gia Binh International Airport initiative and ensuring community involvement in the process.
