Fulham Seals £27M Deal for Man City Forward Oscar Bobb

Fulham Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of Oscar Bobb from Manchester City in a significant £27 million deal. The signing, which is set to bolster Fulham’s attacking options, comes with a 20 percent sell-on clause for City. Furthermore, City retains matching rights if Fulham decides to transfer Bobb in the future. Bobb put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract at Craven Cottage.
Oscar Bobb’s Excitement and Commitment to Fulham
The 22-year-old Norwegian expressed his enthusiasm upon joining Fulham. In an interview with FFCtv, Bobb stated, “It feels great to be here. I had a great day meeting everyone and I’m very excited.” He acknowledged Fulham’s reputation as a strong club with talented players and an outstanding stadium. Bobb noted discussions with his friend Sander and the Manager, which helped him in making his decision. “It was an easy decision basically,” he added.
Competitive Interest in Bobb
Before signing with Fulham, Bobb attracted attention from several teams in both the Bundesliga and Premier League. His arrival at Fulham serves as a critical addition for head coach Marco Silva, especially following Adama Traore’s recent transfer to West Ham United. In addition, Harry Wilson, who leads Fulham in goals and assists, may leave on a free transfer next summer.
Comments from Club Officials
Tony Khan, Vice Chairman and Director of Football Operations at Fulham, expressed his excitement about Bobb’s arrival. He stated, “I’m thrilled to welcome Oscar Bobb to Fulham! He is an exciting young player who is eager to come and play for the club, as we aim to continue the team’s positive momentum through the second half of the season and plan for a promising future!”
Oscar Bobb’s Background
Bobb joined Manchester City in 2019 from Valerenga. He made his first-team debut for City during the 2023-24 season. However, he faced challenges last season, as a broken leg sustained in preseason sidelined him for the entire term. This season, Bobb has made 15 appearances for City and played a pivotal role in helping Norway qualify for the World Cup. His most recent appearance for City was in the Carabao Cup against Brentford on December 17, where he unfortunately had to exit due to injury within the first 20 minutes.
