Arsenal Trains at Emirates with Youth Ahead of United Clash

Arsenal held a training session at Emirates Stadium on Saturday ahead of their crucial Premier League match against Manchester United. This unique practice session saw youth players integrate with the first team, providing a rare opportunity for them to experience the main pitch.

Training Session Details

The session took place just a day before the match, allowing the team to adjust to the pitch conditions. Typically, Arsenal trains at their London Colney facility, but this decision highlighted the importance of the upcoming clash.

Youth Players Involved

  • Marcell Washington – Left-back
  • Remy Mitchell – Youth goalkeeper
  • Tommy Setford – Young forward with one first-team appearance

Setford, at only 19 years old, was officially part of the first team though he had competed in a youth match 24 hours prior, where his team won 1-0 against Burnley. Washington and Mitchell, however, did not partake in that fixture, allowing them to join this senior training session.

First Team Focus

Some notable first-team players also participated in the training. Defender Piero Hincapie was a welcome sight after his previous absence from earlier sessions.

It’s worth noting that not all first-team players were present; Riccardo Calafiori, who trained on Friday, was missing from this session. This absence could be due to injury management, which often prevents players from participating fully in training.

Match Conditions

As Arsenal prepares for their pivotal match against Manchester United, fans await confirmation on the starting lineup. Updates will be provided at 15:15 GMT on match day, ensuring supporters stay informed about team selections and roster changes.
