CAF Announces Referees for Algeria vs Nigeria CAN 2025 Match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the referees for the highly anticipated CAN 2025 quarter-final between Algeria and Nigeria. This announcement comes after much speculation surrounding who would officiate this important match.

The quarter-final clash is set to take place in Marrakech on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Referee Assignments

Leading the officiating team is Senegalese referee Issa Sy. He will be supported by fellow Senegalese officials:

  • Dibril Camara (Assistant Referee)
  • Nouha Bangoura (Assistant Referee)

Kenyan Gilbert Kipkoech Cheruiyot will serve as the third assistant referee, while Peter Waweru Kamaku has been appointed as the fourth official.

Video Assistant Referee Team

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operations will be managed by Gabonese official Pierre Ghislain Atcho, with support from:

  • Stephen Onyango Yiembe
  • Leticia Antonella Viana

In addition, Yahya Hadqa will act as the referee assessor.
