Auckland FC and 2degrees Host SupportHER Football Festival

Auckland FC, in collaboration with 2degrees, has introduced an exciting football festival aimed at girls aged 7 to 10. This initiative is a part of 2degrees’ SupportHER campaign, which aims to foster a passion for football while enhancing confidence, resilience, and friendship among participants.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Keith Hay Park. More than 500 girls are anticipated to join this event, marking it as one of the largest single-day celebrations of female football in New Zealand.

Support from Football Ambassador

New Zealand international Annalie Longo, who has earned 140 caps with the Football Ferns, supports this festival as a spokesperson for Auckland FC women’s football. Longo expressed excitement about this festival, stating, “Auckland has been desperate for a festival of this type and scale for a while now.”

Goals of the Festival

Longo emphasizes that this event is intended to minimize barriers to participation, encouraging girls to engage with sports actively. “I can’t wait to see all those happy, smiling faces,” she added, reflecting on the positive impact the festival will have.
