Sleep Token’s single “Caramel” has been named the top song of 2025 by The New York Times. The honor was bestowed by music critic Jon Caramanica, who praised the UK-based pop-metal band for their innovative blend of various musical styles.
“Caramel” Takes the Lead
The second single from the album “Even In Arcadia,” released on April 4, 2025, “Caramel” is described as a mix of genres. Caramanica highlights its fusion of rap metal, dream-prog, pop-reggaeton, and more. This eclectic sound has earned Sleep Token recognition as the only metal band to top the Times’ list.

Major Accomplishments in 2025
The release of “Even In Arcadia” further solidified Sleep Token’s status. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 shortly after its debut. Additionally, the band headlined the Download Festival in Donington, performing in front of 80,000 fans alongside Green Day and Korn.
Upcoming Grammy Nominations
Sleep Token is generating excitement with multiple Grammy nominations. Their lead single “Emergence” is nominated for Best Metal Performance, while “Caramel” has been recognized as a contender for Best Rock Song. Drummer II is also in the running for his contribution to a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.”
