Hampstead Theatre Launches Season Featuring Stanley Tucci and Kimberly Akimbo

Hampstead Theatre has ambitious plans for its 2026 season, including significant productions and premieres. Notably, the European debut of the acclaimed Broadway musical, Kimberly Akimbo, will be featured alongside several world and European premieres.
Highlights of the 2026 Season
The season is set to showcase a variety of exciting plays, beginning with the European premiere of Kimberly Akimbo. Created by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, this musical has captivated audiences in New York.
Key Productions
- Bird Grove: This new play by Alexi Kaye Campbell will make its world premiere. Directed by Anna Ledwich, it explores themes related to George Eliot, family ties, and self-determination. It runs from 13 February to 21 March.
- Springwood: Stanley Tucci will make his London stage directing debut with this world premiere by Richard Nelson. It depicts a historic meeting between King George VI and President Roosevelt, showing from 19 June to 25 July.
- R.O.I (Return On Investment): A world premiere by Aaron Loeb, this play marks the UK debut for the playwright. It focuses on a venture capitalist supporting an inventor’s idea and runs from 6 March to 11 April.
- Firewing: Written by Hampstead Theatre INSPIRE graduate David Pearson, this play features a wildlife photographer and his apprentice. Directed by Alice Hamilton, it will premiere from 17 April to 23 May.
- We Had A World: This European premiere by Joshua Harmon looks back on his New York childhood over three decades. Directed by Josh Seymour, it is scheduled from 29 May to 4 July.
Community Initiatives
In addition to theatrical productions, Hampstead Theatre will continue its “ENGAGE” program, funded by Camden Council. This initiative aims to support adults at risk of loneliness by providing creative sessions, community nights, and a large-scale production on the main stage.
The theatre will maintain its commitment to affordability by offering £10 tickets for all performances. Additionally, a new Young Friends scheme will launch in 2026, providing exclusive benefits for patrons under 30.

Priority booking will be available on specific dates: Patrons on 28 November, Friends Plus on 2 December, Friends on 3 December, and Young Friends on 4 December. Public booking opens on 5 December at 10:30 AM.
