He previously spent seven years with the LA organization, and expressed mixed feelings about returning. “It’s good. Marco Sturm’s Coaching Journey
Before becoming head coach, Sturm was an assistant coach for the Kings from 2018 to 2022. He led the Ontario Reign, Los Angeles’ AHL affiliate, from 2022 until the start of this season. In addition to his coaching experience, Sturm played 17 games for the Kings during the 2010-11 season.
Sturm acknowledged the valuable lessons he learned while coaching in LA. “They taught me how to actually coach in the NHL,” he noted, emphasizing the importance of his time there in preparing him for his current role with the Bruins.
Tanner Jeannot’s Return
Also returning to LA is Tanner Jeannot, who played 67 games with the Kings last season. In July, he signed with Boston on a five-year contract. Currently, he is contributing significantly as part of the Bruins’ third line along with Fraser Minten and Mark Kastelic, accumulating nine points with two goals and seven assists over 22 games.

As the Bruins prepare to face the Kings, they aim to recover from a recent loss to the Anaheim Ducks. Jeannot emphasized the need for strategic play against a team known for its strong defensive positioning. He said, “We have to be patient and smart with the puck, executing our plays effectively.”
