CPKC Holiday Train Boosts Maine Food Pantries This Saturday

The CPKC Holiday Train is set to visit Maine this Saturday, November 22, to promote food security and spread holiday joy. This event is designed to raise funds and collect non-perishable food items for local food pantries.
Schedule of Events for the CPKC Holiday Train
The train will make three stops in Maine: Hermon, Greenville, and Jackman. The events are free, but attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations.
Event Details
- Hermon: 1:30 p.m. at the Coldbrook Road railway crossing, between Autocar Lane and Dave’s Way.
- Greenville: 6:15 p.m. at the Greenville Junction Depot.
- Jackman: 8:45 p.m. at 4 Walton Street.
Support Local Food Pantries
At the Hermon stop, the Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Community Pantry will be the primary beneficiary. Pantry director Carol Lacked expressed gratitude for being selected again. The organization aims to fill a truck with donations, especially items for Thanksgiving.
Lacked highlighted specific needs, stating, “We’re definitely in need of some Thanksgiving items to finish filling our boxes. We need stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce.” Donations of these items are greatly appreciated.
Alternative Ways to Contribute
If you are unable to attend the train event, there are other opportunities to support the pantry. The Hermon High School Key Club is hosting a food drive at Danforth’s on Sunday. Additionally, donations can be made via Venmo to @carol-lackedy-1.
The CPKC Holiday Train serves as a great way to unite the community and address food insecurity this holiday season. Show your support and contribute to local food pantries to help those in need.
