Chilly November Rain Hits Las Vegas This Weekend

This weekend brings chilling temperatures and rain to Las Vegas, as the city prepares for a notable weather shift. Friday starts cloudily, with isolated showers occurring throughout the day. The anticipated high for Friday is in the upper 60s.

Weekend Weather Forecast

Saturday promises periods of rain, pushing highs down into the mid-60s. A few residual showers are expected on Sunday, although much of the day should remain dry.

  • Saturday: Periods of rain, high in mid-60s.
  • Sunday: Mostly dry with lingering showers, high in the 60s.

Rainfall totals for the Las Vegas area will range from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch, with some locations west of the Spring Mountains possibly receiving up to 1 inch. Snow is predicted at elevations above 9,000 feet, where 4 to 8 inches could accumulate on Saturday. Snow levels will decrease slightly on Sunday, leading to additional snowfall of 1 to 2 inches.

Temperature Trends

This weekend, expect high temperatures to stay in the 60s, while nighttime lows may drop to the upper 40s. This marks the first encounter with temperatures in the 40s since late April.

Upcoming Weather Events

A new storm system is forecasted to arrive on Monday evening, bringing even colder temperatures and further rain and mountain snow. Tuesday and Wednesday will see highs plunge into the 50s, a significant drop last seen on April 2nd.

Drought Conditions

Most of southern Nevada continues to face moderate to severe drought conditions, impacting areas including Clark County. The incoming rains may provide some temporary relief but will not eliminate these ongoing challenges.
