Large Turnout Anticipated for Holiday Parade of Lights

The Holiday Parade of Lights is set to kick off the festive season in downtown Halifax, attracting thousands of spectators. This highly anticipated event will occur on Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting near the Halifax Common.

The parade will follow a winding route through the city:
- North Park Street
- Ahern Avenue
- Bell Road
- South Park Street
- Spring Garden Road
- Barrington Street
- Ending on George Street
Road Closures and Traffic Information
As preparations begin, the municipality has announced road closures. Cogswell Street, between Robie Street and North Park Street, will close at 11 a.m. Other roads along the parade route will close around 4 p.m.
Travel Advice for Attendees
Residents are advised to plan their travel in advance due to expected heavy traffic. Parking will also be limited, making public transport a recommended option. The city will offer free rides on the Alderney Ferry from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Passengers are encouraged to donate to the Parker Street Food Bank in lieu of fare.
