Barstool Founder Faces Antisemitic Slur in Mississippi

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, encountered an antisemitic slur while filming in Starkville, Mississippi. This incident occurred on a Friday as he was conducting a “One Bite” pizza review outside Boardtown Pizza, located near Mississippi State University.

Incident Details

As Portnoy recorded his pizza review, a bystander shouted the phrase “F*k the Jews” at him. This offensive comment drew immediate condemnation from those nearby. Portnoy, who is Jewish, challenged the individual to approach him, saying, “Why don’t you come in the camera, buddy?”

The man complied and approached Portnoy and his cameraman. While their exchange was brief and inaudible, it highlighted the tension of the moment. Afterward, one woman expressed her disgust by stating, “That was awful.” Another bystander yelled at the man, “F*k you, get out of here.”

Public Reaction

  • The identity of the individual who made the antisemitic remark remains unknown.
  • Witnesses quickly spoke out against the hateful comment.

This incident marks the second occurrence in which Portnoy faced antisemitic abuse during filming engagements this year. In June, a similar slur was directed at him while he reviewed pizza outside Terrazza in Toronto.

Portnoy’s experiences shed light on the ongoing issues of antisemitism and the importance of standing against hate speech in public spaces.
