Cincinnati Native Hosts Next Week’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ Episode

Nikki Glaser, a Cincinnati native, is set to host the upcoming episode of “Saturday Night Live” on November 8. This will be her first time leading the iconic sketch show, making her debut in Season 51.

Nikki Glaser’s Rise to Fame

Born in Cincinnati and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Glaser began performing stand-up comedy at 18. She created her first jokes while studying at the University of Colorado Boulder before transferring to the University of Kansas, where she earned a degree in English. Glaser gained national recognition through her appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Last Comic Standing.”

Her comedy specials include “Perfect,” released in 2016 on Comedy Central, and “Bangin’,” which premiered on Netflix in 2019. Noteworthy is her Emmy-nominated special “Someday You’ll Die” and her historic solo hosting of the Golden Globes in 2025.

Musical Guest: Sombr

Joining Glaser on the November 8 episode will be upcoming singer Sombr, marking his own SNL debut. Born Shane Michael Boose, the 20-year-old artist first entered the music scene with his 2021 single “Nothing Left to Say.” His 2023 EP “In Another Life” showcased his growing talent and popularity.

Sombr’s unique sound gained widespread attention in 2025 with viral hits like “Back to Friends” and “Undressed.” The latter peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. His song “Back to Friends” even claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart on October 18, ending “Undressed’s” six-week leadership.

Sombr also performed at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where he won for best alternative video, marking a significant milestone in his career.

“Saturday Night Live” kicked off its 51st season on October 4, featuring weekly episodes. Upcoming guests include:
