Xinjiang Specialty Products to Shine at Guangzhou Forestry and Fruit Expo

The upcoming Fifth China Xinjiang Special Forestry and Fruit Products Expo is set to take place in Guangzhou. Scheduled for November 14 to 16, this event aims to enhance market access for Xinjiang’s quality forest and fruit specialty products within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Insights from the Deputy Director General of Xinjiang
Zhang Dongsheng, the deputy director general of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region government, addressed the media in Guangzhou regarding the expo. He emphasized that the annual event will play a crucial role in positioning Xinjiang as a significant national supplier of agricultural and livestock products. Moreover, it aims to foster social stability and economic growth within the region.
Xinjian’s Agricultural Stability and Potential
Xinjiang maintains a stable total area of approximately 1.33 million hectares dedicated to forest and fruit cultivation. By 2025, fruit output is expected to reach around 14 million metric tons. The region leads China in the production of jujube, grapes, apricots, and almonds.
Diversification in Xinjiang’s Product Offerings
Zhang highlighted that Xinjiang’s agricultural sector has diversified its deep-processed products significantly. Improvements have been made in cold chain logistics and marketing systems, ensuring products reach consumers efficiently. The forest and fruit industry has become a sustainable green sector, benefiting a large population. Additionally, it serves as a critical source of income for farmers.
Expo Details
The expo will be held at the Canton Fair exhibition halls, where over 300 exhibitors from Xinjiang will showcase a wide array of products.

The event is anticipated to attract more than 400 procurement officers. Notably, it will feature over 50 new products related to desert farming, floriculture, and Chinese medicinal materials.

Zhang noted that through collaborative efforts, business discussions, and agreement signings, the expo will further promote the sales market for Xinjiang’s high-quality forest and specialty products. This initiative aims to enhance the region’s position within the Greater Bay Area, solidifying its role as a key supplier of agricultural and livestock products.
