The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the appointment of Presiding Bishop Gérald Caussé as its newest apostle. This decision marks a significant milestone, as Caussé becomes the third apostle from Europe within the church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Gérald Caussé, a 62-year-old French native from Bordeaux, has served as the church’s presiding bishop since October 2015. Notably, he is the first presiding bishop in the church who speaks English as a second language and the third bishop not born in the United States.

Before his prominent role in church leadership, Caussé had extensive experience in the food industry. He served as the general manager of Pomona, a major food distribution company in France. His professional background enriches his contributions to the church’s operational strategies.
