Ikea Unveils 21 New Matter Devices in Smart Home Expansion

Ikea has recently introduced 21 new smart home devices that utilize Matter technology, expanding its offerings in the smart home market. This launch includes a range of products in lighting, sensors, and control devices, all designed to enhance user experience in home automation.
Ikea’s Commitment to Smart Home Technology
David Granath, Range Manager at Ikea, emphasized the importance of affordability and ease of use in smart home products. The new collection aims to make smart technology accessible for everyone. “Our goal remains to simplify the smart home experience since we began in 2012,” he stated.
Expansion of Matter Devices
The newly launched devices are all compatible with Matter, allowing users to integrate them into existing smart home systems without relying solely on Ikea’s technology. This compatibility is crucial as it enables control from other brand Matter controllers, given they also support Thread networking.
