Packers’ MarShawn Lloyd Consults Specialists for Injuries

The Green Bay Packers are dealing with significant player injuries as the season progresses. Among the players currently sidelined is running back MarShawn Lloyd, who is receiving specialized care for his health issues.
MarShawn Lloyd Consults Specialists for Injury Recovery
MarShawn Lloyd, a second-year running back, has consulted multiple specialists to address imbalances affecting his body. These imbalances are believed to be contributing to his persistent hamstring and groin injuries. This careful approach resembles the treatment strategies used for other players in previous seasons.
Injury Updates and Recovery Timelines
In addition to Lloyd, two defensive ends, Brenton Cox Jr. and Colin Oliver, are expected to return soon. However, the Packers have not opened their practice window for these players yet. Currently, the team has six defensive ends on their 53-man roster. Lukas Van Ness is also anticipated to recover from his foot injury shortly, although activation might depend on further injuries at the position.
- Lloyd: Hamstring and groin injuries, consulting specialists
- Cox Jr.: Close to return
- Oliver: Surgery on hamstring; placed on PUP list
- Van Ness: Expected to return soon from foot injury
Oliver had surgery recently, despite earlier assurances from Head Coach Matt LaFleur that his injury was not serious. This miscalculation highlights the challenges the team faces in accurately assessing player injuries.
Expected Return Dates for Key Players
Receiver Jayden Reed is anticipated to make his comeback around Thanksgiving. His foot injury has healed, and his return depends on clearance for his collarbone injury. Currently, Lloyd, Cox, and Reed are on the injured reserve list, while Oliver remains on the physically unable to perform list.
The Packers can designate eight players each season for return from the injured reserve. Lloyd has already been designated, along with offensive lineman Jacob Monk, who has since been activated to the active roster.
As the season continues, the management of these injuries will be crucial for the Packers’ performance and overall team success.
