Typhoon No.13 Halts Operations at Five Central Region Airports

The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority has announced the temporary closure of five airports in the Central region due to Typhoon No. 13, also known as Kalmaegi. The affected airports include Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Chu Lai, and Phu Cat. This decision is aimed at ensuring passenger safety and minimizing operational disruptions.

Operational Suspension Details

The suspensions will take place from the afternoon of November 6 until the morning of November 7, with specific timings for each airport as follows:

  • Phu Cat Airport: Closed from 4 p.m. on November 6 to 3 a.m. on November 7
  • Chu Lai Airport: Closed from 8 p.m. on November 6 to 5 a.m. on November 7
  • Tuy Hoa Airport: Closed from 3 p.m. on November 6 to 12 a.m. on November 7
  • Pleiku Airport: Closed from 9 p.m. on November 6 to 6 a.m. on November 7
  • Buon Ma Thuot Airport: Closed from 10 p.m. on November 6 to 6 a.m. on November 7

In view of the approaching storm, the Civil Aviation Authority has urged relevant agencies to take proactive measures. These actions are necessary to protect flight operations, personnel, and property at the airports. Airlines are advised to monitor Typhoon No. 13 closely and adjust flight plans accordingly.
