Bracknell Hosts Remembrance Sunday Events

Bracknell Forest is set to commemorate Remembrance Sunday on November 9. This essential day pays tribute to the sacrifices made by those who defended freedom and protected lives. Multiple events are organized throughout the area to honor this significant occasion.

Events in Bracknell

Numerous activities will take place in Bracknell Forest. These include parades, church services, and wreath-laying ceremonies. Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate and show their respect.

Poppy Shop in Bracknell Town Centre

  • The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Shop is located at The Lexicon Bracknell, next to River Island.
  • Open until November 7, from 10 AM to 4 PM, offering:
    • Poppy pins for 2025
    • Traditional paper poppies
    • A variety of Royal British Legion merchandise

In the lead-up to Armistice Day, giant poppies have been installed across Bracknell Forest, symbolizing gratitude to all armed personnel, veterans, and their families.

Bracknell Town Parade

Bracknell Town Council organizes a Remembrance Parade on November 9. The parade commences at 10:40 AM from Princess Square and proceeds through the town center and The Lexicon Bracknell. Spectators are welcome to line the route. Attendees should allow extra time for travel and parking, as photography will be taking place. Special Remembrance Game

On November 10, Bracknell Town FC will host Didcot Town in the Bucks and Berks County Cup. The match kicks off at 7:45 PM at SB Stadium. This special Remembrance Game includes a collection for the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal. Free entry and a complimentary drink will be provided for all serving and retired military personnel. Binfield Remembrance Activities

Residents of Binfield are invited to participate in several Remembrance services and parades. On November 8 at 2:30 PM, St. Mark’s Church will conduct an outdoor Act of Remembrance service, followed by a wreath-laying at the War Memorial.

On November 9, there will be two parades and a church service in Binfield:

  • The first parade departs from Oakmede car park at 9:30 AM, proceeding to All Saints’ Church.
  • A Remembrance Service occurs at All Saints’ Church at 10:15 AM.
  • The second parade returns to Oakmede car park, leaving the church at 11:15 AM and arriving by 11:45 AM.

Sandhurst Remembrance Service

The Mayor of Sandhurst invites local residents to a Service of Remembrance on November 9 at 10:45 AM. The event will be held in Sandhurst Memorial Park, Yorktown Road. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11 AM, followed by music from the Sandhurst Silver Band and performances from local choirs and drum corps.
