Sacramento Kings Update Nique Clifford’s Injury Status Against Bucks

The Sacramento Kings are poised to welcome back guard Nique Clifford as they face the Milwaukee Bucks this Saturday at Fiserv Forum. After missing the last four games due to a strained right hamstring, Clifford has been cleared to participate following a successful morning shootaround.

Nique Clifford’s Injury Status Update

The 23-year-old rookie has demonstrated versatility on the court, capable of playing multiple positions, including point guard, shooting guard, and small forward. Coach Doug Christie has noted the importance of Clifford’s presence, especially in terms of depth and flexibility within the team.

Background on Nique Clifford

  • Drafted 24th overall in June as the first-round pick from Colorado State.
  • Averaged 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in his senior season.
  • Shot 49.6% from the field and 37.7% from beyond the arc.
  • Named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team and defensive team in 2025.

In his NBA debut against the Phoenix Suns on October 22, Clifford scored two points, grabbed eight rebounds, recorded two assists, two steals, and one block. Unfortunately, an MRI revealed the strain that led to his recent absence.

Trade and Draft Rights

The Kings successfully acquired Clifford’s draft rights from the Oklahoma City Thunder. In exchange, they offered a top-16 protected 2027 first-round pick, originally from the San Antonio Spurs. If the pick lands in the top 16, the Kings retain it; otherwise, it will convert into two second-round picks in 2027.

With Keegan Murray sidelined due to a thumb injury, Clifford’s return is timely and could positively impact the Kings’ performance as they face a tough opponent in the Bucks.
