Rams Add Kicker Harrison Mevis to Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Rams have made a significant move to improve their kicking game by signing Harrison Mevis to their practice squad. This decision follows head coach Sean McVay’s remarks earlier this week about the team’s struggles with kickers over the first nine weeks of the season.

New Addition to the Rams: Harrison Mevis

Harrison Mevis joins the Rams after training with both the Carolina Panthers and the New York Jets during the past two summer camps. Despite his experience in the United Football League (UFL), Mevis has yet to make his regular season NFL debut.

Issues with Current Kicker

The urgency for change comes after kicker Joshua Karty’s subpar performance in the Rams’ recent game against the New Orleans Saints, where he missed two crucial kicks. Karty’s statistics this season include:

  • Field Goals: 10 of 15
  • Extra Points: 23 of 26

Roster Update: Ronnie Rivers

In addition to Mevis, the Rams have also promoted running back Ronnie Rivers from the practice squad to the active roster. This move is part of the team’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their lineup as they progress through the season.

The Rams continue to adapt and make necessary adjustments in an attempt to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming games.
