Warm Weather Postpones 2025-2026 Utah Ski Season Start

Warm weather conditions have prompted changes to the scheduled start of the 2025-2026 ski season in Utah. Brian Head Resort, which was set to open on November 7, has postponed its start date due to unseasonably warm temperatures.
Impact of Weather on Ski Season
Located in Cedar City, Brian Head is renowned for having the highest base elevation in Utah at 9,000 feet. However, weather reports indicated temperatures in the 40s above 10,000 feet, with nighttime lows remaining above freezing. As a result, the resort has rescheduled its opening to November 14.
Other Ski Resort Openings
Brian Head will not be alone in its delayed opening. Solitude Mountain Resort, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, will also open on November 14. Additionally, other Utah resorts are set to open on the following dates:
- Park City: November 21
- Deer Valley:
- Season passholders: November 29-30
- Public: December 1
Guest Credit Policy
To accommodate guests affected by the postponed opening, Brian Head Resort will provide a credit to those who purchased lift tickets for the original opening date. Tickets bought for November 7 through November 13 can be credited toward future purchases during the 2025-2026 ski season.
With these changes, Utah’s ski resorts are adapting to warm weather challenges while ensuring a smooth start to the ski season for all patrons.
