Avoid Voting for These Candidates on Election Day

The upcoming election on November 4 has raised concerns regarding candidates who have officially withdrawn yet will still appear on the ballot. Although these candidates will not be counted, their names will still confuse some voters.
Understanding Withdrawn Candidates
Sherry Poland, the executive director of the Hamilton County Board of Elections, advises voters to be aware. Votes for candidates who have withdrawn will not disqualify ballots, but they won’t be counted either. This means a candidate who is not actively running cannot secure a win.
Important Voting Reminders
To assist voters, officials will provide signage in voting booths that specifies names of withdrawn candidates. This will help ensure that voters do not mistakenly cast their ballots for candidates who are no longer in the race.
List of Candidates Not Running
Here is a breakdown of candidates across various counties who are no longer in contention:
- Butler County:
- Dale E. Perry – Edgewood City Board
- LuAnn Hudson – St. Clair Township Trustee
- Alex Kaiser – Monroe City Council
- Clermont County:
- Susan Ogle – Bethel-Tate School Board
- Jodi Harding – Forest Hills School Board (also appears in Hamilton County)

Casting Your Vote Wisely
As you prepare for Election Day, be cautious about whom you choose to support. Voting for withdrawn candidates does not affect your ballot’s validity, but those votes will not contribute to the election results. Familiarize yourself with the list of candidates and avoid voting for those not actively participating in the election.
