Marlins Elevate Gabe Kapler to General Manager Role

Gabe Kapler’s Journey with the Marlins
Gabe Kapler joined the Miami Marlins in December 2023, taking on the position of assistant general manager. His substantial experience in Major League Baseball (MLB) has prepared him for this new role.
Previous Managerial Experience
- Kapler managed the San Francisco Giants from 2020 to 2023.
 - During his tenure, he achieved a record of 295 wins and 248 losses.
 - In 2021, he was named Manager of the Year after leading the Giants to a franchise-high 107 victories.
 - He previously managed the Philadelphia Phillies from 2018 to 2019, with a record of 161 wins and 163 losses.
 
Focus on Player Development
Under the leadership of Marlins president Peter Bendix, Kapler has dedicated himself to player development and enhancing the front-office strategy. His background includes a significant role as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ director of player development from 2015 to 2017.
Kapler’s Playing Career
Before stepping into managerial roles, Kapler had a notable playing career in the majors. He played for 12 seasons and had previously crossed paths with Bendix during his time with the Tampa Bay Rays. At 50 years old, Kapler combines experience as a player and a coach to lead the Marlins moving forward.
