Boxer Davis Faces New Domestic Allegations in Lawsuit

Gervonta “Tank” Davis is facing new legal challenges just weeks before his scheduled exhibition fight with Jake Paul. A civil lawsuit has been filed in Miami-Dade County, accusing the WBA lightweight champion of various domestic violence offenses.

Details of the Domestic Allegations

The lawsuit, brought by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, alleges multiple crimes including:

  • Battery
  • Aggravated battery
  • False imprisonment
  • Kidnapping
  • Intentional infliction of emotional distress

These claims follow a previous domestic violence case involving a different ex-girlfriend, which was dropped two months ago.

Incident Description

According to court documents, the alleged incident took place at Tootsies, a gentlemen’s club in Miami, where Rossel worked. Reports indicate that Davis confronted Rossel and attacked her in a secluded area without surveillance cameras. He is accused of dragging her through various parts of the club and assaulting her in the parking garage.

Previous Abuse Allegations

In her complaint, Rossel described a tumultuous five-month relationship with Davis, citing multiple instances of physical abuse and threats. She detailed at least four separate occasions where Davis allegedly assaulted and choked her, including:

  • Threatening to kill her on September 2 for not answering his calls.
  • Assaulting her publicly on September 23, claiming she was unfaithful.

Rossel claims that after the recent incident, Davis sent her a concerning text message, which she interpreted as a threat of further violence.

Impact on Mental Health

Rossel reported that the alleged abuse has resulted in severe emotional distress, including PTSD and anxiety. She is reportedly seeking therapeutic assistance and is currently living with others for her safety.

Legal Implications and Previous Charges

The lawsuit is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages, with a request for a jury trial. Davis has a history of legal issues, including charges related to domestic violence and a hit-and-run incident that resulted in a 90-day house arrest and three years of probation.

As Davis prepares for his fight against Paul on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, the potential impact of this lawsuit on his career remains uncertain. Representatives for both Davis and Jake Paul’s promotions have not commented on the situation.
